About
Conisbrough Castle Archers formed in April of 2006 and became the first National Field Archery Society (N.F.A.S.) club in South Yorkshire. Situated in two locations, midway between Doncaster and Rotherham on the A630, Conisbrough is ideal for anyone in the area undertaking the sport of archery and at Howell Wood Country Park, South Yorkshire. This is situated in South Kirkby, between Doncaster, Barnsley and Wakefield, within close distance to Rotherham, Pontefract and other surrounding towns.
With easy access to the A1 (and M18), both sites are easy access for anyone in the area to enjoy this fantastic sport.
Due to the work required in setting up the wood ready for shooting, we are looking for volunteers to help wherever possible. Tasks involve sign posting, cutting down bracken/trees, clearing pathways etc. If you wish to assist, please contact a member of the committee.
Shooting for the next few weeks are available on the events calendar.
Currently there is a shooting fee of £3.50 per person or £7 per Family payable each day you shoot (2 adults and up to 2 children) for non members. Members shoot for £3 per person or £6 per family. Whilst indoor, in order to cover coffee/tea costs, a fee of £1.00 is payable by all non-shooters.
Everyone is welcome to join in this fantastic sport, however under 16s MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Conisbrough Castle Archers have archery equipment that is available for use by anyone that wishes to try this sport before having to purchase anything of your own. One of the more experienced archers will help you throughout your first few visits to the club to ensure you enjoy your experience in complete safety.
If you are already an archery, regardless of your age, gender, shooting style, please feel free to join us.
